Sencha

An iconic green tea that is the most commonly drunk. The sprout tea leaves are steamed, kneaded, and dried. They have a refreshing aroma, a moderate astringency, and a moderate taste. Deep steam sencha is steamed for twice as long as normal sencha and turns a deep blue color even after short steaming times. There is no raw odor or astringency, it has a mild taste, and since the tea leaves become powdery you can ingest nutrients that are insoluble in water when you make tea.

番茶

Bancha

Tea made from hardened new leaves and stems. There are different types of tea depending on the season, such as second tea and third tea. As relatively mature leaves are used, the caffeine content is low. Also, when brewed with cold water, a large amount of polysaccharide, which is an effective ingredient for lowering blood sugar levels, is extracted, so it is recommended to drink it while eating.

Kukicha

Brown rice tea

Tea such as sencha or bancha with roasted brown rice added. It features a fragrant aroma and a refreshing taste. It contains little caffeine since few tea leaves are used, making it perfect for children and the elderly.

Roasted green tea

Tea such as sencha, bancha, or kukicha is decocted over high heat to bring out the aroma. Generally, the tea made mainly from leaves has a deep blue color and a light taste, and those with many stems have a light color and a rich flavor and aroma. Since it contains less caffeine, it is suitable for children and nighttime drinking.

Matcha

Catechin
